Tiantai Buddha-dharma Publicity International Peace Monument was unveiled in Chinese Okcheonsa Temple.

Zhiyi (538~597), the founder, set up a monument for longing for world peace in Okcheonsa Temple, Dangyang, hubei, China, one of the sacred place of asceticism.

Chinese Okcheonsa Temple is Bodhi-mandala that Priest Zhiyi who established Tiantai Buddhism. 'Zhizhedong (智者洞)', the cave that the priest practiced asceticism has come down until now.

Tiantai (Monk Chunggwang, the director of the Executive Office), set up the monument for longing for world peace in Okcheonsa Temple, Dangyang, hubei, China, one of the sacred place of asceticism that Zhiyi (538~597), the founder, practiced. The pilgrimage group of more than 60 persons led by Doyong, the leader of the monastic order has held the unveiling ceremony of 'Tiantai Buddha-dharma Publicity International Peace Monument (天台佛法弘布世界平和碑)' while the important people of the Chinese Buddhist circle last May. And they wished Tiantai teachings of the illustrious Dharma would be transplanted throughout the world.

Chinese Okcheonsa Temple is Bodhi-mandala that Priest Zhiyi who established Tiantai Buddhism. 'Zhizhedong (智者洞)', the cave that the priest practiced asceticism has come down until now. Now, the monument of ‘The retreat of Priest Zhiyi, the founder of Tiantai Buddhism (天台宗智者大師隱居處)’ has been erected by Chontae Order of Korean Buddhism in front of the cave. This Buddhist service is another huge achievement that Chontae Order of Korean Buddhism completed the Korean and Chinese Investigation Commemoration Shrine in Gukcheongsa Temple, Tiantai Mountain in June 1995 and donated 5,000 volumes of the Chinese version of 〈Tiantai Scripture〉 to China in October 20017.
